Those rock piles are called Inukshuk, they resemble a person holding out their arms. They are built to guide caribou and larger ones are made for hunters to hunt behind. The man that makes the ones you took a photograph has been making them every spring (after the ice melts and water rushes thru) for 15 odd years, there was an article about him somewhere. They are facinating, aren't they. Thanks for sharing
