I'm beginning to think we have very similar "eyes" for photography. See my photo:

I think the two photos (yours above and mine) compliment each other.

Your photo is so natural looking.. yet it is so unusually full of different things from nature. Grass, soil, flowers, rocks, lichens... your composition is really amazing here. The bright yellow and red completely set it off. Lucky you were to find such a scene!

I love how wet this photo looks. Some might not like the over exposed "sun spots" near the upper left, but I love them. They look like bright stars! The water rings, the refracted, distorted and "bent" look of the rocks is so real, I feel as if I'm standing and looking at the rocks myself. The colors in this photo are subtle, but nice.. perhaps it would look nice in black & white with a subtle unsharp mask.

This photo reminds me of one of my own...

Great shot. :)

Hey Niek! I've always had a fondness for photos of the ocean's shores. So many elements of this photo are pleasing to look at. The grassy cliffs look like moss covered slopes at a distance, the ominous gray clouds remind me of the powerful indifference mother nature holds over us. My favorite part of the photo is the rocks. Rocks, lumps of minerals, are always full of life, color, and texture when they're by the ocean. The composition here is great -- the tiny strip of houses off to the right adds just the perfect touch. Great shot, as always. TFS.

Freddie! So you came all the way up to Baltimore, huh? I grew up in various suburbs of Baltimore. The harbour area is nice, but the surrounding parts are generally crap (very high in violent crime, and tons of drugs). All the same, nice shot.. and it's great to see my home city on TL!

I love the blue sky you added in PP. I think that the colors of the dragons are too saturated though. The overall composition is GREAT -- I love how the Hard Rock Cafe is just barely visible behind one of the supporting pillars of the World Trade Center building. The reflections in the puddle are also great. Nice shot, TFS!

Amazing photo. I can never get enough of beautiful woodsy foliage photos. I love the softness of the flowing stream, the arrangement of the rocks, the colors both in the foreground and background, and the moss covered rocks and branches throughout the photo. In scenes like this, nature itself is beautiful -- but as a photographer, you did an amazing job of creating even more beauty by finding an original and artistic way of capturing the beauty you found here. Wonderful shot. Added to my favorites.

Good

With different lighting I think you could capture something really amazing here. In fact, I think that if you could just shoot the boards of wood you'd have an amazing picture -- without the fountain. The colorful planks of wood remind me of long, vertical brush strokes in a painting. The lighting in this photo doesn't do anything to enhance it. I think it's too strong at the top, and too dark at the bottom. Could you try shooting this again at a different time of day? Maybe even closer up and just focusing on the planks of wood -- not the fountain.

You found something great here, but I think you can do a better job shooting it! Thanks for sharing!

Very interestingly captured. The lighting is dark, but bright enough to get the form of the guitar's shape. I myself am a Stratocaster Man, not a Les Paul Man -- but I love this photo nonetheless. It sure is a beautiful guitar, and your composition is original and mysterious.

IMPRESSIVE! I love this! I can't wait to see more of your work.

Where was this photo taken? You did an incredible job here. Great idea to go with black and white. The man's body looks strong and sculpted. Great contrast, and great lighting. Nice work!

Not a bad shot. It actually looks like the original shot itself was really good, and I'd like to see it. Could you post the original as a workshop? I don't especially like the "painting" effect you created. I think it's too strong and doesn't really do anything to make the photo more interesting.

You tested, I loved. So plain... empty.. but it's great. I like the softness of the colors and the mystery of the darkness. The photo gives us so little detail that we're left to wonder what the green "blob" is. A leaf? A blade of grass? A stem? Nicely done.
