That is pretty cool! I like how you did it. Very creative! Thanks for sharing.
I have to agree w/ Migelo: Beautiful horses and excellent shot! Great capture. TFS
The lighting, detail, and clarity are all excellent as is the POV and composition. Why? I don't know. This shot just agrees with me. I can't understand why it has not received more comments and critiquing. You also have a good note to go with it.
Well done!
Ah, I guess I do know on the composition and POV. The main subject the bells are emphasized nicely with the horizontal composition. They point nicely to the facade of the ruined church. The DOF is very good too IMO. While, you could have used a shallower Depth of Field putting more emphasis on the bells since allows us to see every item in the picture with clarity. And, I believe this shot is not just about the bells, but the bells are the most dominant aspect of the picture as they should be IMO. The colors are awesome too. What a sky!
Bravo!
Hi Tracy,
I took a quick look at your profile. This forum post Should show you how to easily make a link to your blog which could/should increase traffic for those who don't want to take the time or don't have the time to copy and paste. I enjoy writing too so I hope I can find the time to give your blog more than a cursory glance. Have you done any fiction? Here is my claim to fame in the fiction department: Antlers Continuation And, I have one professional piece published in the Air Medical Journal: Minimizing the Dark.
Anyhow, your sign is a Commercial Channel Unilateral Daymark/Daybeacon that means the channel crosses a wide stretch of the reservoir from the right bank to the left bank as you travel upstream.
Your picture is a good illustrative shot of this particular marker and what the river is like near one. Your cropping and composition shows everything well. I think it is easy to see if you are traveling upstream you'd want to favor the right bank side of the channel.
Good shot overall. It's not a knockout beauty or masterpiece, but you have shown an interesting facet of river navigation very well!
Bravo!
Wow! What a pleasant treat this must have been.
I like it a lot. Let me see if I can improve my critique based on taking note of some forum comments.
1. I think the vertical POV really works with this shot. Dramatic and beautiful as framed and composed.
2. It allows the higher cloud elements which I think contribute nicely to the photo.
3. The reflection is awesome and cropped just right. Why? I wish I could properly express that. Simply looks perfect.
4. Not all sunrises and sunsets cooperate. But this one certainly did and you captured it ah so perfectly.
The only nit... I wish I had a reflection picture like this for Helen's Friday Theme. Now I guess you'll have to come up with something else if you take part in that. But, this would have been a perfect contribution...
There forum guys and gals... It takes a lot of effort and time to critique properly. No maybe if Adam could include critiques of the critiques... Yeah right...;-)
Beautiful shot! Nuff said!
ciao
Hi Silke,
"a little disappointed" yes. I changed my contact option. Thanks for pointing that out.
Anyhow, "a little disappointed" why? When I first showed up on the scene you were very gracious approaching me and discovering what I was all about. I thought we had a communication in progress, then like a bad date I was dropped just like that...;-( No reason, no continued communication, and no clue. I felt like a pariah. Maybe I am. My intentions were and are good and honorable; at least in my mind anyhow.
So that is the reason for my disappointment. Mario did a very good job at quizzing me and coming to an understanding of what was up. I admit I was a little or maybe a lot out side the box, but I had hoped, since this is TrekLens after all, that I wasn't out of line.
Life and social interaction does take time and an effort though for all of us, and many lives do tend to be busy, so while I was disappointed, I should take my lumps like a big boy. What does ScottHale say: "1.I firmly believe to contribute you must have THICK skin."
Anyhow,
Nice shot! So simple and beautiful! I hope to take my own sailing shot someday, so I can pair it with this:
"The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit." John 3:8
Thanks for inquiring about my disappointment.
Kind regards,
David
ps I am still considering starting a monthly ProximityCast theme as I talked to Helen about. My idea may seem a little quixotic, but it could benefit from the suggestions, comments, and critiques of others. It would also be good to see how others handle the different aspects of a ProximityCast eligible shot. But it is out of the box, and I'd rather just silently go away than be pushy. If I started that theme, would you contribute?
I don't know how this one could be improved. The expressions on the both of you are priceless. She looks like a very happy young lady. My baby's 16 now. You're shot makes me wish they were younger so I could experiment in like manner. Maybe with the grand kids someday. My oldest and the only one who is married told me not to hold my breath. Oh well.
Thanks for sharing...
Great POV and composition! This could easily be a postcard or brochure. Awesome work!
Cheers!
Hi David,
This shot makes me think of dreams and hopes. We have to play with the cards we are dealt in life. I believe in trying to make lemonade whenever I'm tossed a lemon. And, I've found if one thinks they have been given a raw deal it is always possible to experience worse. Also, no matter how bad someone things their lot is there are usually others that have harder burdens to bare.
I've just gotten news of an old friend in the hospital. Here's to hope that he will pull through ok.
Sorry, I'm getting long winded here...;-), but your pictures seem to carry that extra something...
Dreams and hopes... That got me started, hey mate?
Anyhow I climbed what was a major mountain for me: The launching of ProximityCast.com I didn't find what I had hoped for at the top of the mountain: a nice quaint little fishing village on the other side like your picture portrays where I could take my ease. Instead, I found a whole nother range of mountains that needs to be successfully crossed if I'm to maintain the hope and dream of arriving at my quaint little fishing village someday.
I think it is good to have dreams and hopes even if they seem to manage to stay just out of one's grasp.
Sorry mate for getting long winded, but your photos are an inspiration and a joy to view.
Regards,
David
ps my memory suffers. Sometimes I repeat myself. I can watch a movie I've seen before and it's like the first time. I guess that's a bonus.

Your skill is awesome! Very impressive. You are talented. Thanks for posting your work.
