I wish the photos in some of the big books on bird identification were as clear and clean as this, it would be impossible to mistake any other bird from this beautiful shot.

Great shot of the lighthouse but I will be monkeys auntie if that isnt Mission Bay in the BG not St Heliers. The old flats on the right and a few other buildings are older tha me as I grew up with them. Sorry Ralph, wasnt meaning to sound snippy just that you did such a darn good job of the photo I could still find my way around it and I left there in 1971. TFS

We havent decided what/who Titan was in previous life but like Kiwi it just adds to their charm. Missy just likes to sit in the bathroom while you are in the shower, Carl chases her out and she gives me the 'You Dare' look so I let her stay. Titan, he nearly got flattened one morning when he hopped in behind me and actually swished his tail across the back of my legs. Scream, jump and grab shower curtain before seeing a very 'hurt' Titan giving me the 'whats with you' look. You're right, gotta love 'em. TFS

Looks like someone named Harry(?)found the old birds nose tempting too. May be just the quirks of this darn screen too, terrific catch that has just sent me off on a Google map search down Meola Rd in Pt Cev. Ok it was 1971 the last time I went down there but that part of town looks like an ants nest,so many houses, was looking to see if the old plane was by some weird chance still sitting on the Nth side of the road in what seems to be the only 'vacant'piece of land left. I guess it may have been moved to Western Springs many moons ago. Thanks again Rew for another trip down memory lane.

While my feline preference is to the Oriental types this is a beautiful puss and so well taken. She looks like the original powder puff, such an expressive face too. At this time of year (well more so this time of year)my pair are taking turns at keeping my laptop from getting cold by curling around the back of it, have fan under it to stop it overheating so not quite such a problem.
That is quite a set of whiskers she has there too. TFS

Definately different, very nice too. Now, how big is that monster? At least it is somewhere that it cant hurt anyone or be hurt.

Darn birds, beautiful shot and you can see what is going through that critters mind. Had a family of the blasted birds occupy my back veranda many years ago up the Buller river and was greeted with'presents' every time we opened the door. We had previously been up the high country and had the other feathered comedian, yup,Kea, pulling leadhead nails out of the roof at 3am on snowy morning just for kicks. As long as I can find lovely photos of them like this I dont miss them one tiny bit.TFS

Nicely balanced shot and beautifully crisp. I hope they all survived their 8 seconds of 'fun'and no clowns were hurt either. TFS

Our Titan was a similar age when he found us 3 years ago after being dumped but he joined Missy as an indoor cat, he terrorises the few stupid mice that have dared to venture into this old house and will sit for hours waiting for mouse to put its face where his lightening paw can reach. He has a good game with it then lets Missy '
finish it off' before placing it where he just knows it will get stepped on, loveable sweet fiend. Well done getting down to focus on both bird and the 'Thats Mine' look on cats face.
