I grew up with Bagpuss too and this compilation of shots is gorgeous. I love the colours of him, he looks very new and cuddly. I like the b/g you have used too with the little paw prints.

I like the colours of the sky and the way you have caught the light on the water. As you say, it looks like it was taken later in the day.
I think I may have been inclined to crop the bottom a bit more, maybe just above the scuffed up bits of sand but thats just my opinion.
I think the frame works well too.
