I'm a fan of wide cityscape panoramas like this. The framing of the bridge as an extension of the city to a place outside the frame is interesting.
The negative to this image is the giant overexposed sun. That is because the dynamic range of lighting in the image far exceeds the camera's ability to record it on one frame.
The best way to handle a subject like this is to take multiple frames of different exposures and combine them through software either by hand or using specialize HDR applications.
Good photo subject. The great thing about nature is there are always surprises that come along unexpectedly.
I can't tell you the number of times I have went on photo safaris with a carefully planned agenda but the best pictures I brought home were unexpected finds.
This is composed exceptionally well. The technical quality and detail in this image is it's main strength.
The image looks to lack some contrast. Under normal circumstances that would be a defect but it works perfect with this composition. It gives the image a painterly, desaturated quality that adds greatly to viewer interest.
Great job!
This is my personal favorite of the images that you've so far put on TrekLens.
This picture is more than deserving of its 1st place finish. This is an exceptional environmental portrait.
It is said that one picture is worth 1,000 words. This image is worth more than 1,000 pictures! You've captured more than great light. You have done more than compose an exceptional picture. You've captured a culture.
Great photograph!
The low perspective and the way you've composed it inclusive of the American flag is what makes this a visually interesting picture.
Wow... What a pleasant surprise. You must be the exceptional photographer, Laurie Black, I remember from DPChallenge.
I uploaded a B/W picture of Allison Fisher on TrekLens today. She is a world champion pool player. Someone added that picture to a theme called "Billiard pictures". Looking at the images in that theme led me to this picture.
Small world, isn't it?
Nice B/W!
Given that you have posted very few images of New York I find it very interesting that you would chose this one.

Classic track and field image. Properly panned, well presented and you captured the moment very well. Great clarity on the runners.
I'm a former track competitor myself though I was a middle distance runner. I, of course, competed for a better school - The University of Arizona in Tucson. LOL!!!!
Nice series of track photographs.
