Can't think of a better reason to be late to church! Excellent original capture, and your PP work just makes it seem completely natural. Lovely and serene.

Oh, you have me laughing so hard! Thank you for the giggle. By the way, great use of B&W and excellent exposure (geez, I knew I was going to have to use that word....sorry)

This muted lighting is so true to northern latitudes. You caught a November mood very well. I like the estuary against the power lines. Good work!

Great composition on a cloudy day. Interesting lines and motion. Good work! Jim

What a magnificently artistic shot. You took a noisy photo and turned it into a painting. Wonderful work. The composition is perfect, and I love the colors. Well done!

PS, if you wanted an actual usable photograph, you have great equipment to capture it. You would just need a tripod (which, by the way, I hate using myself!)

I laughed and laughed. I really like the clarity of baby's face and the fact that Dad's left eye is in partial shadow. I might have cropped the shot so that Dad's head is in the upper left of the frame, as I'm not sure that the dark leather on the left side of the frame adds anything to the composition. Just some personal thoughts--really, I love this photo and will share it with friends. Thanks for brightening my day!

Nice composition and treatment. You have captured something that is often overlooked aesthetically. I see masculine strength as well as repose. The hand adds a personal element. The soft, warm textures of the denim are absolutely sensuous! Thank you for sharing, and I hope you take more shots like this.

Michael,
Your composition and exposure are excellent. All the important elements are sharp. A couple of questions, though: was this an in-camera B&W conversion or was it post-processing? Is it B&W or sepia?--on my screen it seems a little warm for B&W. It seems to me that the contrast should be enhanced to bring out the deepness of the sky, the brightness of the clouds, and the lightness of the exposed granite of the columns. I will do a workshop later.

Excellent photo--I will also have to look at my Rome pictures, because I remember this line of columns.

Great photo. Makes me realize what we Americans are missing with our out-dated "embargo." Oops--sorry, this is a photo page, not a place for political ranting.

Your exposure is perfect, and I like the composition. I agree with jbate, that the frame does not add anything to your shot (unless it's hanging on a wall). There is some noise in the sky, but that could be a result of the compression required to post here. Excellent job!

This is an outstanding photo. The fact that it is posed does not bother me at all. I like the dark above her head, and especially the figure-eight made by the hanging string of pearls. Lovely in all respects. Great job!
