This is certainly the most elegant proposal to-date Torben. I'm not surprised in the least that a Dane would have produced such a design, especially one who happens to design things for a living... ;-)

The only element that doesn't work for me is the spine of the book. Personally, I've always been underwhelmed by the color palette used in the TrekEarth logo. I've no doubt that I'm a minority of one on the issue since so many folks objected to the fact I didn't include the logo in my earliest iteration. My preference would be bright red spine with white letters.

Incidentally, I've included that photo in a number of my designs. I believe it is a particulary powerful image. I'd be very content with that as the single image appearing on the cover.

Fine work here.

An open question Manny since there is no right or wrong answer, simply a matter of preference. I love the limited depth of field and yet I'm not certain I want the ring out of focus. I'm beginning to shoot with Canon's EF 50mm f/1.4 and I'm still getting the hang of it, especially when it comes to controlling the depth of field so I get the result I'm seeking. I don't doubt since you are such a skilled photographer and took so many photos on that day that this is the version you prefer. I respect that, as I do your excellent composition skills. For myself, I'm not certain... ;-)

Be well.

You could make a living doing this Gal. Great images, every one. You've carefully composed the image and given us a perfect frame. This is HIGH art, IMHO. The sound you hear is APPLAUSE!

This is really fine Fusun. The pavement is wonderful, the shadows a delight and your use of grain works very well. All of your post production work yields great dividends. I like this image very much.

You take my breath away with this stunning image! Both the image and the words are beautiful. You are a woman in love, Fusun, as well as a poet. I bow to you.

I like the Dry Brush as well Nina, though I haven't posted anything using it. These flowers look beautiful rendered this way. The colors are among my favorites so how could not love it. Nice work.

This is a shocking image largely because you apply a layer with a sharp edge to an image that is otherwise quite fluid as a result of the Twirl filter you applied. This is very artfully done Ninfa, I like it very much. And your note is very good as well. Fine job.

Needless to say, the workshop, while well done technically, removes what to me is a distinctive element of the design. But such matters are very personal.

This has a lovely spontaneous quality to it Manny with the kids expressions so real, from the boy playing with you to the girls dreamily taking in what is happening around them. The tight crop which you do so well certainly works here as well. You used USM judiciously, maintaining the right amount of softness to these beautiful young faces, whose innocence you capture so well. Fine image Manny.

This is a lovely image and I appreciate your decisions in presenting it. When I first saw it I felt the urge to do a workshop sharpening it and then read your note. I agree with your decision with this lovely soft light. I did a workshop, however, as an exercise to develop my eye that I will post. I played with the idea of applying a more artistic filter, to emphasize the mood, but I liked your image too much to go that far with it. You did well here Dan. The geometry is spot on and the composition really fine with the repetitive arches running along the left side and the couple as focus in the foreground as well as the fine staircase in the distance. I like this one very much.
