I don't think there is missing a lot, it's a nice photo, but to be really strong maybe there is missing a clear focus of interest.
Try playing with levels a bit, see if you can add a little bit more crispness, also using USM. This should improve it.

Good diagonal composition, nice colour contrasts and blurred background. Just the flower itself could be slightly sharper, but this is probably due to the relatively slow shutter speed, or did you use a tripod?
Anyway, a nice macro.

I like your off-center composition a lot. A shame that the child is not that sharp, apart from that, you have captured this moment really well. It's a very emotional and symbolic photo...

Great

The flower is beautiful and I do like the composition, the light is a bit too harsh for my taste - I prefer normally a more subdued light with flower shots, but that is a matter of taste. The main thing here really is the lack of sharpness, and even though USM - like Ruud pointed out in his workshop - helps, it only really makes sense if the original was sharp in the first place. Here it wasn't because 1/15 is just not fast enough without a tripod...

You did a good thing to just leave it as it is - it's perfect, great colours, and it is not super-sharp because of the scanning, which I like here, as it gives the photo a slightly "painted" look...

I love the orange/green contrast - great...
A really beautiful photo worthy of the occasion you posted it for...

An unusual beach/sea photo, as you have a "front layer of trees" here... Original and beautiful...

Yes, Arturo is right, it's a story...
A very original idea... Well seen and captured...
