Hi Robert,
Yet another lizard? This one is much more attractive than the others- even from the back. Nice touch with the white hat. Impressive waves. Not very typical, are they?
Regards from France,
Randy
Welcome home. Glad to hear you had a pleasant stay inMexico.
We're in France. We've already spent a week in Belgium with friends (and a few new friends from TE), several days in the Vercors (climbing 500m to 1500m), a quick side-trip to Cannes yesterday, and now, just enjoying Peynier. Retirement is even better than a vacation. :-)
Maybe next year will be your trip to Europe.
Regards,
Randy
Hi Robert,
Good to hear from you and learning of your escape to Mexico.
The Schwartz's are leaving April 29 for almost four months in Europe. If you can escape once again, for a trip to France, you are welcome to stay in Peynier.
Regards,
Randy
Hi Robert,
Glad to hear you are doing well- just working a lot. :-)
It's OK to take some time off-even from TrekLens.
Stay warm.
Regards,
Randy
I think a little slower shutter speed (re: smoothing out the water on the left) and perhaps going a little higher for more colorful leaves (but there probably weren't any more), would have improved this photo. That's coming from a guy who never gets these nature photos right. :-)

Hi Robert,
I've been pretty busy at work and therefore don't comment very much, but I enjoy seeing the Canadian fall colors you are sending us.
Regards,
Randy
Hi Robert,
Deciding on exposure and the use of a polarizing filter can be very difficult when photographing fall foliage. With digital, we can also change the saturation in the camera (even point and shoot cameras let you choose specific scene types). I've been using a polarizing filter, but sometimes it puts colors "over the top" - especially at higher elevations.
I guess it all comes down to a matter of "taste." (I'll have some Merlot :-))
Today it's over-cast with some rain. That's good in some ways: the polarizer won't have any effect, but the tree trunks are nice and dark, yielding marvelous contract to the leaves.
Have a good Sunday.
Randy
PS. That was a lot of snow last year!
Good morning (Colorado time) Robert,
Beautifully framed with a birch tree, these are colors of the Eastern Townships that I remember. However, it seems a little late in the season and the reds are not as intense as I recall. Glad to hear you're enjoying your day trips and the weather is cooperating.
We're in Colorado visiting with my daughter to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday. We had marvelous weather yesterday and enjoyed the golden aspens from Boulder to Breckenridge(there aren't any reds here at all- no maples). Today it's overcast with some rain becoming mixed with snow tonight- quite different from North Carolina in October!
Regards,
Randy

It looks like a steeet corner in Brussles.
(Not to imply that people in Brussels are insects.) ;-)
