What makes this image stands out are the lines, form, contrast and the limited color palette.
This photograph says a lot. Its a refreshing view! I wonder how more beautiful might this be if it was take before or after sunrise. Also, the effect of the CPL can be noticed also.
I like the framing of the image. It would have been really special if you have included the eyes in the whole image. I guess you want to emphasize the texture of the skin but the old eyes will say more.
Since I started to learn photography last year I wanted to capture gates because I have not seen many photographers take images of them. It can be interesting and challenging at the same time because a lot of people think that there are not much to see or capture. I learned that there are lots of possibilities if you know what to look for. This one is great.
The perspective on this shot is superb. Depth is surely effectively emphasized. Great work on this one.
This is a nice image. How did you meter this? I think if you metered the shadows(the stairs) and underexpose it by 1.5 to 2 stops there will be shadow details.

I also like looking upwards to frame a shot. This is dizzying as this edifice is really tall.
