Interesting and I think you should try this type of shot again as although your composition is really very good, the sharpness (or lack of depth of field) makes the photo suffer a bit.
Good EYE though! :)

Good start and welcome to TL
Your photo lacks a little sharpness but is very good in the framing and the catching of the cat's concentrated look!
Check my cat (Thunder) that was a similar colour.
Cheers!

There is little to critique here as this is a simply fabulous photograph that brings the beholder a step closer to a dreamlike vision. I may not be within the guidelines of TL but I would simply congratulate you for such a great photo.

Almost as good as your "Portrait" photo! Great sharpness. Now having done portraits of yourself - try others! I am sure you will do wonders with other subjects as well. Excellent composition..

It was not easy to decide whether I like your Muse photo better than this one. In the final analysis, this is one is the better one as it leaves more to the imagination and the "eyes" win it as well as your excellent choice of sepia that enhances the textures! Excellent!

Simply great! Excellent framing putting the cat's eye in evidence and great sharpness!

Even though I find it bordering on disturbing, it makes a great abstract. One can decipher the fanions!

Vickie this is a great shot - I guess you were on a tripod. It would have been good to have a bit more description of the time and circumstance surrounding your photograph!

I agree! I posted a similar photo quite a while back and found it disappointing that few appreciated it. But then again beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
This photo is minimalistic in nature but captures all the essence of calm waters - especially nice for those who love it.

Very nice capture David and beautiful colours, but once again, too much background in my opinion and the cedar waxwing (central subject) would be put more in evidence through a different cropping bringing it closer to the center.
