Hi Alex,
A simple photo, not a miracle of technical perfection, but very original! It works for me :)
Hi Alain,
Although technically the photo is quite nice - not much noise, interesting lighting - I think the crop doesn't do it justice. I think a wider shot, with the tower positioned either left or right would've given it more depth.
Hi Jovie,
A very attractive composition, portraying a characteristic scene (in many countries). Framing is nice, POV nice, but perhaps the saturation could have been a bit less. Especially considering the washed-out sky, the difference seems unnatural.
Hi Erik,
A really attractive, "authentic" photo. Good decision not to PP it too much. Good sharpness and DOF, good color and light balance (although I think the shadows are slightly over), and an attractive POV.
Good job :)
Hi Rob,
A beautiful landscape, with an attractive sky - which I take as the primary subject here. Good cropping, nice colors, clean image. Sharpness is a tad flat, but that's understandable in images as wide as this.
Regards,
Chris
Hi!
I think this is one of your best images. A very candid portrait, clear and sharp image. Sepia was an excellent idea. Quite inspiring crop, too.

Chris
Hi Hans,
First of all, this is a magnificent composition - a perfect example of why there are no rules in photography. Some people say "don't leave space behind an animal", but that's a load of crap. If it looks good, it's good. And this photo IS good :)
About your dilemma, I dare say that the WS photo is, indeed, a tad brighter and more vivid. However, this one has a slightly better balance between shadows and highlights. It's difficult to call it. Perhaps I would go with this one (not the WS), because of the more "natural" feel it has.
Regards,
Chris
Hi Nune,
This is indeed a beautiful landscape, and the result is not bad at all, but I think it could have been even better. The image lacks sharpness, and the colors are a bit flat. The balance between highlights and shadows is a tad off too, IMO.
Composition-wise, I would've left the plant out, as it distracts the eye excessively.
Regards,
Chris
Hi Erik,
I'll agree with rewshearer on this one, especially regarding the choice for sepia. Perhaps a B&W with high contrast would've been better? I also think the subject (gosh, that's a terrible word!), the girl seems surprised. That's not neccessarily a bad thing, generally speaking, but for some reason it doesn't fit here. I think it somehow breaks the artistic illusion of the scene.
Regards,
Chris

Hi Mika,
A spectacular capture, quite original cropping, and a fantastic sky. Sharpness and lighting good, and also a good color balance. The light balance is also spot on - unless there is a light HDR PP, I applaude your choices of shutter/aperture. Spot on!
