Lovely shadow work..

I would suggest:

* Higher contrast
* Remove the background, or black it out, or crop tighter around the childs head.
* select only the eyes, and sharpen them much more than the rest of your shot. (See Manny's photos to see how well sharpening the eyes looks).
* burn a little on the hair to remove the hot whites that were created possibly by the lighting, or sharpening.

This would create a much more powerful photo I think.
