[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I posted this phot before on Trekearth. I feel it's better in place here on treklens. Critiques received on TE are used on the processing on this one. In the original there is a man walking by, just behind the girl. He was really breaking up the composition, so I got rid of him :) . Further more extensive work on giving the b/w the right amount of 'life', working with yellw gradients in the blacks. Added just a little extra touch of contrast. For the rest is just an average morning on the banks of the river Lacullo in Angola. Picture taken at 6 in the morning.

Very nice shot Jan - I like the composition, the subject, and the treatment of this: I'm still trying to figure out how to convert successfully to b&w with this kind of depth and quality.

PP and cloning work are perfect.

I like how none of your subjects are looking at the camera, and the casual beauty of the woman is such a compelling element of this shot.

Awesome framing- looks like something from a magazine. This is great work. Although I do think there is a bit of extra contrast....Nice shot of daily life. Good crop and POV.
