This photo was shot in the dry Boteti River bed on the edge of the Kgalagadigadi Game reserve in Botswana.
The zebra and wildebeest migration was at it's height and every scap of water was precious. The zebra was drinking during high noon, which doesn't normally happen except in extreme drought.
I tried to get a good shot of a couple drinking at the same time, but try as I may I could not get the surrounding zebra in the right positions. |

Nice shot of the African wildlife. Thanks for sharing.
Colours work well, giving that really dry dusty feel. Composition around the 4 drinking is good, obviously these zebra haven't got the modelling skills of some animals and don't know when to get out of shot!
I've made use of the clone brush in a workshop to see what 4 drinking alone look like - hope you don't mind
