At the harbour, a striped fishing boat, with bright colours and in the background on the left, a grocery, on the right the police station ...

This place is so surrealist ...

belle compo mais surtout de magnifiques couleurs qu'il manquait un peu à tes photos précédentes ; )
Très belle photo, comme tu l'indiques, un peu surréelle

What a funky post. The bright colours work well on the ohterwise quite pinkish-grayish background. And I like the long shadows. Very plesent postcard, thanks for sharing.

I believe you it's a surreal place -- a boat parked in the middle of a grocery and police station. :) It's nice that the vibrant color of the boat stand out of the soft background. And more than the sharp image and pretty colors, I find your fotos poetic.

Riches couleurs cette barque! Sur fond de couleurs terre que composent ces bâtiment... C'est fort réussi!
Bravo!

bouyant shot...the boat is so incongrous yet seems a part if you sense the unforseeable is just around the corner

This is great! Colours against gray walls. The "barca" is so crasy here. It should be in water:-)
It is the same place you took from another side. Nice sunny day:-)

Preciosa foto! Destacan mucho los colores de la barca! Una barca pintada con los colores y nombre de mi patria tan lejos de aquí! Me ha gustado mucho verla, me ha emocionado! Gracias por hacerme llegar esta imagen!

Nice colours here, Sylvie. IMO this would work better with a more blurred background, as the stern of the boat is overlapping the door...
I love the setting, with those nice cobble stones and - very surreal - a boat in the street instead of in the water. The tight crop around the boat works fine.

Buongiorno signorina. a barca al sole è molto bella, ma dove è il gatto?
Cette proue te saute en pleine gue...j'aime bien cette mise en page, bel équilibre.

Hi Sylvie,

For me, I'm catalan, is a very strange and curious photo. What are these boat doing in Cape Verde? Nobody paint a boat with the colours of their country! what a foolish! I can imagine a catalan in Cape Verde to long for Catalonia :-D

Very surrealist!

tfs,

ferran

And two slightly different photos, one here and one on Trekearth. If I hadn't seen the one on Trekearth, I'd have thought there couldn't be a better view of this scene. It's impressive, but I like Trekearth version better, this one displays more of the background buildings, doesn't have the surrealistic tilt, is not quite as surrealistic, but it's a difficult and personal choice.
Regards,
Lois

It's very curious. This boat has the name of my country, Catalunya (Spain). In fact, its red ond yellow colours represent the catalonian flag. Original boat and nice picture.

Enric.

Hallo Sylvie,
Superb colour contrast!
I guess there is something here you don't show us, but from what I see... What is the boat doing in the middle of the street?
Nice indeed, and funny!
Greetings,
Pablo -

I've seen this boat also at TrekEarth. For me, it is very interesting that the painter of the boat knew very well that he was painting the Catalonian national flag (the Senyera) and not the Spanish one (same colours, but different proportions and number of stripes). It is interesting that Catalonia is written in Catalonian language, not in Spanish. We find strange things in Cape Verde.

Hi Sylvie,

What a contrast, well spotted with a ogd POV and DOF to match. TFS

Salut Sylvie

Yes the place is such a surrealistic painture... as the colors striped of the boat and the texture of the street... where the boat lies... another surrealistic place for a boat..
