Cairo
,which means "The Vanquisher" or "The Triumphant", is the capital city of Egypt. While Al-Qahirah is the official name of the city, in Egyptian Arabic it is typically called simply by the name of the country, Masr (Egypt). It has a metropolitan area population of officially about 17.1 million people. Cairo is the twenty-first most populous metropolitan area in the world. Cairo is also the most populous metropolitan area and the most populous city in Africa.

Hi Anna
Cairo has more than 4 times the population of my entire country! :) Obviously a hugely crammed and populous city - but one with great history also.
This shot manages to capture both the beauty and ugliness of huge cities, the architecture and the haze, a landscape entirely crafted by humans.
