Window on Egypt

After my 'windows on China' my second experiment on triptych presentation. Both statues of a falcon presenting the Egyptian god Horus taken at ‘his’ temple in Edfu. The middle image is the Sphinx and the pyramid of Cheops. The hieroglyphs are taken at the temple of Sobek in Kom Ombo.

The grey-blue air at the middle image of the sphinx and pyramid id replaced by a black background. Further it took quite some PS-labour, to adjust all six images in correct dimensions.

Let me know what your opinion is of this digital triptych

Egyptian Gods

Ancient Egyptian religion encompasses the beliefs and rituals of Ancient Egypt. It was followed for over three years until the establishment of Coptic Christianity and Islam.
Early beliefs can be split into 5 distinct localized groups:
- the Ennead of Heliopolis, where the chief god was Atum or Atum-Ra
- the Ogdoad of Hermopolis, where the chief god was Thoth
- the Chnum-Satet-Anuket triad of Elephantine, where the chief god was Chnum
- the Amun-Mut-Chons triad of Thebes, where the chief god was Amun
- the Ptah-Sekhmet-Nefertem triad of Memphis, unusual in that the gods were unconnected before the triad was formalized, where the chief god was Ptah.

Horus

Horus is an ancient god of the Ancient Egyptian religion, whose cult survived so long that he evolved dramatically over time and gained many names. The most well known name is the Greek Horus, representing the Egyptian Heru/Har, which is the basic element in most of the other names of Horus. Horus was so important that the Eye of Horus became an important Egyptian symbol of power. He had a man's body and a falcon's head. He only had one eye because after Osiris was murdered by his brother Set, Horus fought with Set for the throne of Egypt. In this battle Horus lost one of his eyes and later this became a sign of protection in Egypt. In one story he has said to have cut off his mother's head. Horus united Egypt and bestowed divinity on the pharaoh. (Text Wikipedia.com)

Hi Hans! Another postcard picture worthy image. The black bg makes it a more tranquil image (and it looks more sophisticated in my opinion) than with a real life sky.
Good job!
J.

Very impressive pp work - I like the composition and framing.

Hi Hans, an other great egiptyan composition, Spinx and Kefren Pyramid between Horus statue, great note of egiptyan religion, thanks my friend, great presentation, very well done, ciao Silvio

Hoi Hans,
Al met al een mooie plaat. Ook een mooi verhaal erbij!
Groet,
Joop

Hello Hans, Yr presentation of this is certainly beautiful, and well done... I find though that you have cropped slightly a little to close to the top of the heads of the two outer photos, but none the less brilliant work..and excellent notes, thank you.

Enjoy your day/eve
Cheers
Dawn
