The mere mention of the name of the Nile evokes for modern man images of Pyramids, great temples, mastabas, desert, fantastic tales of mummies, and wondrous treasures. But the Nile represents life itself to the people of Egypt, ancient and modern. In fact, for thousands of years, the River has made life possible for hundreds of thousands of people and animals, and has shaped the culture we today are only beginning to truly understand.

Photo was taken at the west bank of the Nile. These two children, a boy and a girl were rowing back and forth at the side of our boat asking for food. Not money but food! It was sunset when they were doing it. By the time it gets dark, they rowed their boats away. For another picture on these two kids you may go to my post in TE ETERNAL NILE

Andre,
interesting POV.
I like the ripples and 'patterns' in the water.

Personally though, I'm feeling that it could be helped by some contrast adjustments/sharpening.

Best regards,
Daniel

You captured the massiveness of the river very well. They looked quite lost and small. Very symbolic of their struggle. The light on the yellow stuff inside the boat is maybe a bit strong. The mood you wanted to create is excellent.

Hello Andre,
I like the diagonal movement by this simple mean of transportation!
The situtaion is well captured, telling a sad but always occuring story...
Greetings,
Pablo -
