Wyspa Faraona - wyspa na Morzu Czerwonym w północnej części Zatoki Akaba (Riwiera Morza Czerwonego) w Egipcie. Oddalona jest 7 km na południe od miasta Taba, 250 m od brzegu półwyspu Synaj.
Na szczycie nagich skał stoją odrestaurowane ruiny fortu krzyżowców. Fort zbudowno w 1115 r., oficjalnie dla zapewnienia ochrony pielgrzymom udającym się z Jerozolimy do klasztoru św. Katarzyny na Synaju. W rzeczywistości, ściągano myto od arabskich handlarzy. Fort ten zdobyty został przez Saladyna, a w 1183 roku Arabowie go opuścili.
Wyspa Faraona otoczona jest rafami koralowymi, dlatego jest popularna wśród nurków. ( wikipedia.org )

Pharaoh's Island refers to an island in the northern Gulf of Aqaba off the shore of Egypt's eastern Sinai Peninsula. In the 12th century, Crusaders defending nearby Aqaba, now in Jordan, built a citadel on the small island, which they called Ile de Graye. In 1170, Saladin conquered the island and reconstructed the citadel.
Along with the citadel of Al-Gundi, also in Egypt, the citadel on Pharoah's Island was added onto the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List on July 28th, 2003, due to its purported universal cultural value.
Because of its location near Jordan and Israel, the island and its coral reefs have become a popular among tourists based in Taba, Eilat, and Aqaba. |

Mialam racje Zosienko, ze ta wyspa wyglada jak usypana z piasku i na niej z piasku zrobione te mury obronne.
Wspaniale miejsce i bardzo ciekawe.
Bardzo efektowna kompozycja, wspaniale poradzilas sobie z ostrym sloncem.
Gratuluje wykonania, bardzo mi sie podoba.
