The sphinxes of Egypt are mythical creatures, seen as guardians in the Egyptian statuary.

Sphinxes are depicted in one of these three forms:
•Androsphinx - body of lion with head of person;
•Criosphinx - body of lion with head of ram;
•Hierocosphinx - body of lion with head of falcon or hawk.

Hi, Jose. Lovely sepia tones highlighting the antiquity of this wonder. Good sharpness, details in the profile and composition. Cheers and TFS.

Hi Jose,
Beautiful black & white sepia tone and details
nice contrast and light,
Excellent Point of view and note of the sujet.
Very well done.
Michel

Must have been amazing to see this with your own eyes Jose! I love our usual recognizable sepia tone - fantastic for this spectacle. I know it must have been difficult to get the pyramid and sphinx in one shot ,,, I'm thinking it might have been better to have a little more room in front of the nose ... haha .. the nose. ... what nose?? ANyway, you know what I mean, but I understand that might have been difficult.
Very nice shot Jose

I like the use of sepia in this one , it contributes to highlight this very ancient monument so adequately , this is the medium that brings out the texture of the stones and conveys the ambience best , second choice would be B&W with a slight tinge of sepia in it imo , what a view closing in on your subject , a tight crop indeed , plenty of character in this scene , i like this Jose ,
TFS,
Carol

Hello Jose,

great capture - it's unusual to see such a scene as this presented in B&W/sepia, but it has an interesting effect. Well chosen point of view and composition. I like the sharpness, and the graininess adds to the texture.

Hi Jose,
Amazing POV. Very well planned and executed shot. Black and White format makes this photo timeless.

Hoi Jose,
A very nice presentation of this well known artwork !
The sepia do give it a very harsh look.
My only remark is the tight crop. It would have been nice when there was some space at the right side of the image.

Joop!

Ola Jose,

Your Sigma UWA was skillfully used here. Your composition is exact, technical, and to my liking. Your pp work made the Sphinx and pyramid more magical and inviting to visit. My best regards.

Danilo

Hello, Jose -
Intriguing composition with the grand pyramid seeming to be perched upon the back of the enigmatic sphinx. Very sharp throughout, and the b&w gives it a timeless feel (very appropriate given the age of these structures). The sunlight is well-managed with nice exposure everywhere. Great work.

Ciao Jose

Ah!.. o Egito me encanta e muito,
Um dia...um dia ainda irei visitar o Egito!
Esta é uma beleza, mais ainda me fascina as
esculuturas, os hieroglifos. Eu acho que o
período Arcaico, as Dinastia o Antigo Inperio
e Nilo ainda me cativam e muito.
Um belo tiro e grande registro.
Eu pude ver na tua outra página as esculturas
que adoro tanto.
Saudações,

Sergio

Magnifique! You made me travel back in time
Great POV and A+ PP.

Ola Jose,

This looks like something out of a 1940's Book Of Knowledge encyclopedia, the sepia tone make it appear very old. The sharpness and composition is outstanding!

Thanks for sharing!

Meu Português é ruim, mas eu gostaria de tentar.

Hello my dear friend
One of the best pictures what i saw ever for the Pyramids and the Sphinx
You did Exactly by your position what is the Pharaohs meant by building the Sphinx , they meant to build it as Guard , and your position really show that.
The light is incredible, the tone is such a perfect.
In fact you got this perfect shot cause you felt it, you are artist and very sensitive Jose.
Well Done and Best regards
Greeting from the beautiful Egypt to one of the best artist here and to your beautiful country.

HI Jose
Getting the pyramid and the sphinx all in one shot is an excellent composition. The tinting you chose renders the stone so realistic you feel you want to reach out and touch.
Love the close crop and the shadows of the head.

I had to disable my facebook account. Till they fix my internet, all I can do is try to upload and critique. One day it might work a bit then for the rest of the week its on the fritz, and when it works its so slow and just seems to hang.
