50 cent

50 cents .... not enough to buy a cup of coffee in Europe or the US.
50 cents to buy yourself half a pint of beer or half a gallon of gas.
50 cents, ever spend on a Polio vaccination, would have given him a completely different life.
Now he is walking on hands and one leg.... asking the tourist at the gate of a restaurant in Arba Minch to give him 1 Birr ( 10 cents ).....
In return you get a smile..
50 cents and he can survive a day.

Hello Frans,
Sometimes we just do not know how lucky we are. We moan if the dishwasher breaks down...a major catastrophe. Your photograph brings us back down to the real world.
TFS, happy holidays to you and yours,
Peter.
Saludos amigo, JL.
God bless you!!
Hi Frans,
Strong shot and message !
In the meantime, people are spending a fortune for stupid Xmas presents costing more than 50 cents ... So sad !
Sylvie
Sometimes people in India have been purposely bent like this to beg. The worse you look, the more tourists or pilgrims give you in India. Either way, it is so sad. he looks like he would have been a healthy strong man otherwise! India still had pockets of polio. I like this man's face, friendly, nice looking smile. I wish I could fix the world, but I cannot fix my own life it seems, and my problems are nothing compared to his! My legs are not so good anymore, worn out. I got a whole life time of walking out of them, he has little.... (seems like it would hurt)
