[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I like much the black and white but I do not know by which end to treat it because I never manage to obtain nuances comparable with our old paper photos.
Is necessary it to photograph in black and white directly (can be in Raw) or to then transform the color into black and white (by grayscale on PS as I made on the photograph that I present to you), I do not know.
Also, I thank you for all criticisms which you will want to have well the kindness to make because I would really like to be able to improve me in this type of photos.

Beautiful portrait. The eyes looks unreal.
I like the light and beauty of the child expression.
Bravo Gaby.

Gaby this is a lovely portrait. I would suggest you go to http://www.arraich.com/ps6_tips_dduotones1.htm which is a tutorial on creating duotones for b & w in ps. The site has an extensive list of tutorials and I bought the cd rom with his advanced tutorials. I do recommend his methods although some of them have quite a learning curve. Very nice work!

Great photo indeed! I am a fan of heavy contrasts in b&w phots, but this one sure proved me wrong. No heavy contrasts and still it looks fantastic! Very well done here! As for your question, it actaully depends on the person, some prefer to shot originaly in b&w while others prefer to work it with sofware, there's nothing like trying a few photos and see what works best for you.
Ana

Gaby, your picture is beautiful as is the child. The B&W works well here. This is a beautiful portrait, but I also like the one in the workshop....both are good.

LE noir & blanc ça change hummm? J'aime bien!
