I'm having fun scanning these old slides - some come out sharp and others don't, a bit hit and miss!!

I'm posting this one even though some may say this should be on TN (I'm not a member there) as it shows well the dryness of the bush after it's been dry for a few weeks..

Fuji Velvia 100 shot on Minolta X300, scanned, adjusted and the white frame just like photos of old used to have when they came back from the print shop..

Tremendous shot David, like something you'd see in The National Geographic! Love watching elephants, such interesting creatures. Have a shot in my gallery of one at the zoo, using it's trunk as a spade to flick sand over it's back. Impressive to read that this is a scanned image, the sharpness has been retained extremely well. It's like I'm there watching him in real-life! Well captured.

TFS,
Scott.

Hello David! Wonderful brave elephant. Amazing scene. Dangerous but perfect POV. Good capture. Original shot. Well done!

Good monday, David.
Perfect scan of this oldie.
Do you use a separate scanner ?
After my Holiday to Sicilia I sure will make some more effort of scanning my slides again.
Note: Of course, when I wrote, '100 in a minute', it should have been 100 in an hour, haha
Congrats with this result.

Great detail off scanned film, it takes a lot of mega pixels to match a good film capture, nice image too

Hey, I've seen one of them before - he's about 6'7 and goes by the alias "WhiteKnight" lol
(I'm allowed to say this, I'm his little bro!)

I wouldn't have picked this for a scan other than the fact the elephant really stands out, sort of 3D. I've noticed this with slide film. It's cool.

This one came out really well. As your bro said, he does almost seem 3D. Quite nice and sharp, although it seems as though his backend is sharper than the front - face is a little fuzzy on my monitor. But the wrinkles are nice 'n sharp:)
Great shot David

Hi David,
Beautiful picture of this Jumbo.
What kind of scanner do you use?
I still have e few thousand slides from the analog era of South East Asia, Costa Rica and Kenya.

Hakuna Matata!
Adri

Hi David,
A love this nature shot of the crossing elephant, you managed to capture a nice moment. The qulity of scanning is pretty good and you managed to handle the strong light quite well. It would be nice on TN as well, but definitely fits here, too. :) I also like the details on the skin of this huge mammal. One day I would like to do a Safari trip in Kenya!
TFS.
Best regards,
Kristof

Hi David

A superb 'big picture' shot, in more ways than one! Good sharpness on the profiled elephant with excellent framing & colour. Excellent graphism & tonal range. Tfs!
