[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is the Malimabatso bridge in Lesotho in the winter of 2003. The bridge spans the Katse Dam reservoir high up in the mountains and it is quite an awesome sight. This shot was taken hand held while my partner was anxious to get going since we had a long way to travel to reach the border post before it closed.

I was quite surprised when the photo came out to see the almost perfect reflection of the pillars under the bridge. For the rest the photo is barren since it was winter with a lot of snow on the mountains still. It also shows the roads that have only been completed about a year before this photo was taken and the area is still barren after the intensive work with the building of this huge dam. You can read more about it by Googling "Katse Dam" The Dam itself is an engineering wonder.

The photo is saturated to the extent where more saturation will make it look quite unnatural. Hope you will find it interesting if not enjoyable :-)

Hi Wia
That reflection really make the photo worth the effort. Plenty of shutter speed for the hand held image. Composition well managed.

This is really nice. I like the pov. A very nice bridge, and the landscape around looks very interesting. TFS

Wia
The bridge is sharp and clear and good reflection on the water. I would like to see more contrast even though a winter day in this area is very dull. (I'll post a workshop later today.)
Andrei

Impressive reflections indeed Wia. No matter how hard we try to emulate on our screens what our eyes saw at the time someone will always ask for more contrast. The angle of this was probably the best to get the reflections you did. Good natural colour and just enough sharpness. TFS,
David
