(even more cats here : 30 of them together)

A second post on the same subject : The "marabout" or holy man is long dead, but his tomb is still attracting many visitors, mostly women.
... Very amusing for me, to see that the business around there has changed completely :
I remember clearly, when I was guiding French tourists there in 1980, that the emphasis was very much about the nearby "sacred spring", with rituals of stepping on burning grass and offering eggs, sacred eels that would miraculously cure most women from infertility (and bring a male child to those who needed one, etc) ; at that time, there were no cats as far as I remember - maybe one or two, but nothing special ;

now, all is about the *46* cats (here are only some of them, but I could only count *35* !), the lady in pink asking for money to feed them. The visit inside the tomb (entrance here) of the "marabout" is of course the most important moment, he remains very popular but there is no more interest in the sacred spring, although the visitors walk around there too - it must have lost its power somehow, too many women complaining about its uneffectiveness ?

this will win the hearts of many cat lovers, including mine. Reminds me of the great writer, Hemingway who had a cat house for 40 cats or more in Florida.

Ha! Great subject, not the sort of shot that somebody with a cat phobia would want to see, though.

Good light, good sharpness ... hard to know how to compose a shot like this, I think you did the best under the circumstances!

Hi Catherine
You did a good work with the cats in the holly man´s house...
I saw many of yours photos and love then all...
I comment this one, cause the absence of people on it...(I think I prefer this way..), but the quality of all are the same...
good DOF, POV, sharpness and mainly the light is great on the photos...

well done.
