This is from my archives but the image keeps popping back into my head. The couple arrived at the tomb of King Hassan in Rabat just after sunrise together. I took the picture as they surveyed the vast outdoor area. They never spoke to each other. I just presumed they were married.

It said alot to me about men and women in traditional Morocco.

The old decaying wall behind the man looks like someone took a bite out of a cracker.

It was shot with my old Olympus at low-rez but I think the image is strong.

Hi David,
Wow! This is a strong image. And a strong "observation." Only thing I can say that's a "negative" is that you placed the his wife in the corner and she really anchors the eye's movement. Other than that, nothing else. I like the expression you caught on this mans face...so fierce, though I'm sure he's just squinting in the sun. And that old wall in back...feels like these traditions should be left in the past where they came, in my opinion. ;) Well seen!

Very expressive image! I wonder if he was mad when you took that picture! Excellent composition here! I like very much the contrast between the man and the woman and I feel sad at the same time to see that! Hoping that the mentalities will evoluate in the near future in that country! Thanks for sharing this amazing picture!

This looks great!! The man's expression it fantastic, you caught this very well and I think this is not the kind of photo where we should not be bothered with technical details, it just a one moment in time thing, shall I take the photo or not??
I am glad you did!
About their traditions... it's really hard for us to understand, it's just a wold too different.

A brilliant documentary shot, with a strong method portrayed through the expressions and the dominating wall between the couple. Love it!

Hi David !
This is a great shot, a journalistic documentary capture ...
I like the man's look and the composition with this decaying wall.
The image of a witness.
Congrats.
Sylvie

The photo says a lot David. The expressions are great, and the composition works well.

The content is great. It must be fun living there, as a woman, you do not need to invest a lot in make-up.
