Djemaa el Fna

This image shows Djemaa el Fna, the main square in Marrakech, Morrocco from the third floor of the Café de Paris.
Interesting about this location is, that at daylight there are about 30 different booths selling the same: orange juice. "But don't forget, the juice from booth 17 is the best". Later in the evening many mobile kitchens are built there (you can see the smoke in the background) and you can almost eat everything. Artists, storytellers or dentists (VERY strange) can also be found there.
In the area in the middle to the rigt you can see a very small part of the souk of Marrakech, big area to go around, have fun, buy souveniers [for example a shisha and tobacco ;-) ] or just have a look at everyday Morrocan life.
All in all the city is a place where every traveller or tourist that gets to Morocco has to be, I've been there twice for two or three days in 2004 and 2005 on a trip from Austria to Dakar by car. |

It's nice for a nighttime photo. | can never get the lights not to be blurry. I first thought it was blurry lights at the back but I see you say it is smoke. Very interesting info. There is something fascinating about Marocco. The tower looks as if it is hanging in the sky. Creates a bit of a surreal effect.
I like it!

Hi Martin,
Nice shot. The colors is great when the background is black. I love it.
