| Baobab means "tree of a 1000 years." It's growth is virtually unlimited. Its height rarely surpasses 10 meters, but its circumference can exceed 23 meters! Despite its mass, the baobab is quite fragile. Its roots are small, and its wood is fragile...so much so that you can almost carve your name in the bark with your fingernails. That's one reason why it's trunk is so easily hollowed out to make boats. Its bark is used to make rope,and its leaves to make a calming tea as well as a sort of "vegetable." All in all, it's quite a tree! |

I like the symbolic look it take. Almost a logo. Save the baobab! I did know that the woold was that fragile! The colors are special! :)
Great silhouette! Definitely a national symbol for Senegal, and I could see this photo easily being used for an image or picture as a logo, like Werewolf said before. Great work! -Lara
