Another portrait of my series, taken in Dakar.

A woman who inspired me.

Natural light, cropped and resized for TL. Followed the advice of Frans about a thin black frame.

fondacci sei grande!!
this woman is sweetest.. the look is melancholic.. and indeed she is beautiful, leaves me without words.
proprio Bravo syl!

Sylvie, this is definetely an impressive portrait and you did a great job capturing such an expression on your model's face. However, I wish you had put her against a darker backdrop and cropped a little from the left. Then the impact would be really better. There is too much dead space there, distracting the viewer. What do you think?
Congrats
Fusun

beautyfullllll!!!

Lots of photos of her :)
I must say this is probably my most favourite one form the series, though hard to explain why.
The thin black frame around it works excellent, I really like it. Thanks to Frans for the idea, I suppose!
And the crop makes it different from a usual portrait too.
Well done as always!
Nuné

Bonjour Sylvie,
Quelle belle série de portraits! Tirant le meilleur parti de la lumière, tu as particulièrement bien réalisé celui-ci. Surtout le regard tourné vers l'intérieur. Excellent B&W et choix judicieux d'encadrement. Bravo! Annie

Beautiful. I love the simplicity of the composition, the white background to make her pop out, and the choice of black and white makes the shot contemplative and timeless, which goes with the title. Amazing lighting used to make her skin and eyes shine, and I really like the cropping at the right side, making us focus on her glancing to the left. The detail and clarity is amazing, I can almost touch the skin and hair. Nice contrasts and tonalities, and good framing and composition. Perhaps the left edge of her hair and face are a little too central in the shot, but I like the focus and her expression is wonderful. Nice simple frame too. Your portraits of Senegalese women are great! TFS!

Bonjour Sylvie
Quel superbe portrait.

TFS, bravo,
Cath.

hi sylvie,

may your best till now. light, crop perfect. the way the lady looks, perfect. the thin line .. I like it but that;s what you already know. small minor remark, the ring in her ear seems to be lost in the white background, try to select it before you go to black and white and darken it..
you must have more of these .
regards frans

Hi Sylvie, splendid b&W portrait with great expression, very well done, have a nice week end, ciao Silvio

humm tres joli portrait! plein de douceur!
Eric

Hi Sylvie,

This is a brilliant portrait. It is so characterful and communicates a lot of emotion.

Wonderful!

A beautifl portrait! The glimpse in her eye makes me wonder what she is watching. The b/w really fits but I agree with some people that the picture could have been cropped a bit on the left hand site, just to focus even more on the model's interesting face.
