[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Two colourful pirogues in Saint-Louis in Senegal.
Taken during my visit to the north of the country near the border of Mauritania in july during my third trip to Senegal.

The word Senegal comes from "sunu Gaal" which means pirogue in wolof, the main language of this warmful and generous country.

Scanned film. Added some contrast, added a black frame and resized for TL.

la foto non è perfettamente pulita.. ha del disturbo (noise).. il POV è eccellente.. stellare.. sembra quasi un incontro di persone.. face to face.. perfetto nei colori e nel timing..

Another warm and colourful photo from Senegal...
I like how the two pirogues are facing each other, as though communicating or maybe even rivalling.
I didn't know where the name came from, so thanks for that too!

looks like the harbour of Mopti in Mali. although they have piroques too in Mali the nose of the boats look different. nice crop with the panoramic view and frame.

I like this composition. The pirogues bows loog like guardians preventing the viewer to get inside. This creates additiona curiosity... :-) I like the colours in fg as well scene in the bg revealing some architectural solutions. tfs
