Have you not heard the saying before. Every story has two sides!
Well look at this piece of branch I cut off, one side smooth the other...
Enjoy life while you can, one day you won't be there to enjoy it no more.

Hello Clint,
I really like the idea behind your photo, but I'm not sure you rendered it in an effective way. IMHO, the two different parts of the story (even if they are clearly visible) do not really stand out against each other. Difficult to give suggestions: perhaps taking a bit more distance from the object or enhancing the contrasts between the two textures by postprocessing.
Just my personal opinion - hope you don't mind. But I DO appreciate your wise words: so, I'm stopping my comment right now, 'cause the sun is shining outside and I still have "some" life to enjoy! ;o)
TFS & kind regards,
Erik
Sounds like the 'west side story', Clint. haha
A cubus has 6 sides.
Apert looking picture, well seen and taken.

Hi Clint
Well bravo for experimenting with a subject like this - in all honesty I don't think the shot works very well. No offence I hope!
While it's a unique idea to photograph a cut/torn piece of wood, I don't feel it has the sharpness throughout to make it compelling - there is only a small area that is properly focused.
This is only my opinion of course, thanks for sharing and keep the experiments coming my friend!
