[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi Friends
I was on a camping trip when I saw this eagle on one of the telephone poles.Well, I stopped the vehicle and caravan, attach my lens, and sneak out to get a shot.
I was lucky to get this one in focus, since my lens is long, and I handheld the camera at 1/250ss.My distance from the bird was between 80-100metres.
A few interresting facts:
Distribution: Africa, south of the Sahara, throughout South Africa. The bird is common in game reserves, but uncommon to rare in farming areas.
Very large bird: 78-83cm, and you can see this by the size of it's claw to the pole.
Wingspan of 195 - 260cm.
Hope you enjoy my catch.
Cheers
Jan

Beautiful shot. Good compo and POV.

HI there!
This is one of the Big 5 in the birdwatching world, and you caught it beautifully.
Maybe the shadows on the bird itself are a little distracting and the focus isnt perfectly crisp (due to your distance from the bird), but overall a great shot of a magnificent creature.
Well done!
