| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This is a shot taken from my folks' house close to the beach in Mossel Bay in South Africa.
Every day these guys would glide on by the house, going up and down the coastline, riding the winds. It was a magnificent sight; they look so peaceful and of course the gliders are eerily quiet.
I played around with the focusing systems on my Nikon a bit, and eventually got his shot.
Hope you like it! |

Hi Niel,
I am with the other person about the faults of this shot. I think it can be rescued though. Some rotating, cropping and dodging should do it. I'll give a workshop a try.

After reading the first two critiques I had a quick giggle. Yes, they are most propably correct and in our camera club it will not go far. However, to get the man to turn around and face you is difficult. The light could be fixed in photoshop... do you want me to do you a workshop?
it looks like a lot of fun! didn't you get a big zoom in the christmas stocking?

Hi
Unfortunately this is not a good photo.
Why?
Horizon on this picture is askew. Main subject - man - is to central and too dark - spot (or CW) metering could help.
So keep trying because this is interesting subject for good photo.
Regards
Maciej
