[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
One day to explore the whole of the Cape Peninsula - much too short. We started quite early in thick fog and slowly that lifted. Then the weather was fine for a few hours, but on our way back to Cape Town the heavy rain started again, although most of the Chapman's Peak drive was reasonable.
Those specks on the middle left rock are the famous pinguins/pikkewijnen one can see on the nearby Boulders Beach and in the sea you see the top of huge I think you call it kelp, up to 2 or more meters long, only the top is showing in the water of False Bay. Not far from here is Seal Island (also well worth a trip if one has time enough and of course where fat and tasty seals are playing a shark or two can be expected.
You don't have to look that far to have a corner of this beautiful peninsula all to yourself as we had here.
Hope you like this "empty" space as much as I do.

Your composition is fantastic here especially the misty atmosphere if eye catching. A mini subject floating on the far sight is interesting. An excellent image my friend, well done.

Nice misty background with a quite contrasty foreground. I cannot really estimate the depth though. Could be 10 kilometers to the other side of the bay, but 2 would be possible as well...

Hello Els,

What a 'thought provoking' photograph! My eyes were drawn immediately to the sharp, detailed rocks in the f/g. Then they sailed across the water to the heights in the distance! What a contrast in colour, in sharpness, in detail, in height! The f/g is clear and detailed, the b/g is veiled, a mystery! A lovely shot, my friend!

Zeer fijn plaatsje, ziet er zeer rustig uit. Het is fijn hoe de bergen zich verbergen in de mist. Met een bootje erbij zou het de perfecte foto zijn.

What a sublime scene this is, Hendrika! I like the 'empty space' as much as you do/did. It is interesting to see both fog and clouds. I like the strong contrast between the hazy blue in the BG and the dark grey of the boulders. TFS! Cordelia :)))
