Lovely composition Mark and lovely post process too. You are really good at setting up still lifes. It's not easy to come up with ideas like this. IF you want to continue with still life, i would recomend you to get a small reflector too, to have more control over the light. I was amazed when i saw the difrence in a shot i made the other day. This is really lovely Mark.

Mark, this is very very beautiful...I am not sure if this sounds like a compliment, but your sunflower is almost as smooth as computer generated.(I mean a compliment :)..it is also because of the unusal tone of yellow you chose I guess..very lovely picture...(is it the sharpening that gives the shell the metallic effect ? it looks beautiful)

Beautiful artistic work, Mark. It's soft, cool, and every element is in the right place. I love the flower and shell textures, and IMO, the framing works particularly well here, with the shells in diagonal, the flower in between, and the blurred fore and background. There is a kind of metallic feeling in this image (I like it). Very good work.

For "nothing special", you've made a beautiful composition here. It's interesting to see that you've taken the photo in B&W and added the color during post processing, when usually people take the simple way and make the inverse.

How you can say this is nothing special beats me! It is beautiful and elegant, and fantastically composed - I never thought of seashells in B&W! These look like silver ornaments. I love it - well done on this Mark. It has been very well thought out.

nothing special? are you kidding?? i love this Mark! truly beautiful composition here.. i adore sunflowers and the way you've done this with the glorious yellow flower against the classic almost marble like desaturated background is truly marvelous.. a work of art! :-)
