Herding on Tuti Island
 |

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Another shot of Tuti Island, situated at the confluence of the Nile in the middle of Khartoum. the place is often described as a snapshot of traditional village life in the city. Despite the 41 degrees and my sunburn being there, I would also describe it as an oasis of green foliage and tranquility - at least when taking Khartoum as frame of reference.
Here a little boy with his herd. I liked the tight crop when taking the shot. Don't know why. Probably because it were very nervous sheep and difficult anyhow to get them all into the frame :-). Thinking of it, I'm not sure if it were sheep or a strange type of goat...
The boy stayed in the shade, when I was trying to get a good shot in the burning sun - smart boy. Well, not wanting to over-expose the white-ish sheep/goats, the boy came out a bit dark. |

Good moment you have captured, good composition and sharp. A pity that the boy's face is UE but great anyway. Thanks,
Mario
Hi Dennis,
The animals are "shoats", a kind of sheepy goats. ;-)
The photo gives a nice impression of their daily life. TFS.
greetings,
Joop!
