This praying mantis made an excellent model, it was extremely patient and let me spend lots of time trying to get a good photo of it.
This is a heavily post processed version, the processing including using multiple layers in photoshop, the find edges filter, plus various other adjustments. |

Hi Kate,
Your praying mantis looks like a character of science-fiction film! Amazing and good work. I like the saturation and very good composition. Bravo! Annie
Praying Mantis
From whence arrived the praying mantis?
From outer space, or lost Atlantis?
I glimpse the grim, green metal mug
That masks this pseudo-saintly bug,
Orthopterous, also carnivorous,
And faintly whisper, Lord deliver us.
—Ogden Nash, from Custard and Company
Your shot illustrates Nash's poem nicely! Tfs, Jay
