Dietes
24 Oct 05
Dietes iridioides. One of a series of photos I've been taking of flowers indigenous to Swaziland. Technically, I was quite pleased with this one because it managed to pick up the subtleties of the colours and some of the textures, but from an artistic point of view, I think it's fairly boring.
Post processing: cropped, slight adjustment of brightness/contrast, resized, sharpened, framed. |

I don't find it boring, Kate! Actually, I think you did a pretty good job at capturing the texture of this iris. Nice subdued light and good composition. Don't sell yourself short!

Well, I have to agree with Pierre on this one, Kate, this is a great macro. We almost feel that we can touch this beautiful flower. Very nicely composed with a very good DOF. Excellent!

Pretty flower. The photo is a bit grainy though and maybe a tad bit on a darker side.
I also speak afr :)
This was one of the first flowers I took pictures of. Awww the good old days.
This is very nice. I really like the perspective you used.
Maybe a tad bit grainy, but other wise a very nice shot.
