butterfly's view

This photo is actually sideways - the butterfly was sitting on a vertical window frame - but I decided that I preferred it this way round.
Post processing: cropped, slight adjustment of brightness/contrast, sharpened, framed. |

Hi Kate,
Great shot. It's fine with this setup. It would be better if can get the whole butterfly. But I like you spare space at the right part.
Tfs,
Tjutjut
It's great that you rotated this because now the shot suits the title: the butterfly really looks like it's gazing out the window just like a human would! Beautiful natural colors and tones, and the lighting coming from the side through the window is great in creating good contrasts. I would be careful about letting the right side get too bright since the bottom right corner is getting overexposed, which is kind of distracting. Great shallow depth of field to make the background outside of the window a bright, green white and red scene, you wonder what the butterfly is looking at. I would have to agree with Tjujut here that it would be better if we could see the whole butterfly. Very good focus though, very sharp. I like how the black frame ties in with the dark tones on the butterfly and its backlit antennae. TFS!
