A spider with its prey.
Minor post processing: slight adjustment of brightness/contrast of the butterfly, which was in shade, making it much darker than the rest of the picture, which was in full sun. Cropped, resized, sharpened, framed. |

Hi Kate,
This is amazing! It took me a while to realise what was actually happening on the photograph! No wonder the butterfly didn't see it! Great p.o.v., colours and detail. Did it take you a long time to capture this or was it one of those rare chances of luck?
Anyway, well spottted!
Kind regards,
Bev :-)
Hi Kate:
Never seen that color of spider...good details and exposures, very well done!

O my god - that's dramatic - what a moment!
Poor butterfly, catched by a crab-spider!
You captured a horror-moment, very well done, Kate. I like to see shots of insects in nature, always interesting to go out and find beautiful - and sometimes sad things.
Thanks and greetings

Aaah what a meanie! Poor butterfly.
Great moment, and as said: well spotted. :)
