Another of the only leopard we saw on the safari. They are, by far, the hardest animal to see there. They mostly spend their days in the canopy of a tree, so you have be lucky to catch one. This one was up in that tree for several minutes, then climbed down and walked to another tree about 50 yds. away. It's amazing to see a cats that size coming down the trunk so easily.
This is a very cropped photo, as we were a little bit aways from this tree. |

Hi David,
Amazing capture of this leopard, original safari shot! It's really great as it's coming down from the tree. It would deserve much more attention here on TL. Fantastic sharpness, contrast and background. Beautiful job! TFS.
Greetings,
Kristof
Great timing and framing here David.
I love the placement of the tree and the diagonal line.
The leopard is well placed and the resolve is perfect.
Well done.

hello David,
in the thumbnail the leopard is very well camouflaged. It was only by clicking on to enlarge the image that I could see the line of the leopard down the trunk.Because the photo is heavily cropped it has lost some of its quality but interesting despite that.

At a quick glance I almost didn't spot the leopard! The simple composition and lines work well together with the leopard's position on the tree trunk, and the natural light and textures enhance the reality of the scene. A marvelous moment and lucky catch...and well done!
