Tarangire Leopard
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
A leopard, seen at Tarangire NP. The leopard is generally the hardest to spot of Africa's big five.
The big 5 are so named because of their attraction to hunters. It includes the lion, elephant, cape buffalo, rhino, and leopard. On safari, we saw all 5. This was the only leopard.
Those are elephants in the BG.
For the repost, I worked with the shadows/highlights adjustment to bring out the leopard more. I originally hadn't used this adjustment much since it works on the actual pixels and not as an adjustment layer, but have started using it more. It allows you to make adjustments that are too difficult just using curves alone. |

Hi David,
Awsome shot, you were lucky to see the leopard. They are masters of stalking their prey and thats why its very difficult to see them in the wild. The Big five are named that way because they will not back off if confronted by people :) they should've included the Hippo as more people are killed by them than any of the big five :)
Nicely done :)
TFS

Hi David,It was hard to see to much leopard details in the smaller image, but glad I opened it up for a better look.
Vibrant image, it must have spotted dinner or was scared off by you,but I would imagine the latter. You certainly caught the moment ,definately an action shot, you nailed it.
