I was checking out these kids for a little while, as they where gathering on by one under the mango tree in the shade...Then there were three of them bringing the very large jackfruit, in the middle :0
Party time !
Not so lomg after that the one in the middle spotted me, a Mzungu with a Camera !
Don't know why, but I just love this photo.
Was a little hard to post process. Understandably the centre of this photo was way to dark at first.
CS3, Phototools and NeatImage all came into the game to get it like this.
Photo taken close to the Equator Point Memorial , at Nabusanka, Uganda....I think the kids are sitting on the Northern Hemisphere , and I took this photo from the Southern Hemisphere ! |

Mooi. Toch zou ik de kinderen wat oplichten.

Heel mooi Jan. Goed gezien en veel diepte in de foto. Mooie herinneringen van Uganda komen weer boven.
Dit zie je niet meer in Nederland. Jammer dat er in Nederland een samenscholingsverbod is....zucht.

Jambo Jan, Habari gani,
I like this shot also. I can see that it would have been difficult pulling detail out of the shade.
I like that each child has a wholly different expression, you can see the personality of each child in the shot. The cool-ish shade on a hot day, the omnipresent, oblivious goat in the background. Just a great, natural moment in the life of Africa.
I tried a version of your photo that cropped out the green at the top and the branch at right, but I think the branch to the right and top do a good job of framing the shot, and providing some intimacy to the group...containing them in the scene. Your version here is better.
Anyway, thanks the the post! -K
