For this week's Theme I can post a photo that has a personal meaning for me that always brings happy memories. This is a view through the window at the Succulent Nursery of my friends in Vanrhynsdorp in Namakwaland. That part of our country that I like so very much.

This window was specifically put here to allow the people working in this office a view on the Maskam mountain. It is on the southern side of the building and in our part of the world not where one would usually put a big window.

The Maskam Mountain is what can be regarded as the portal to Namakwaland. One can drive right up to the top of the mountain to find farms there where they inter alia grow Rooibos tea. This particular plants only grows in this part of the world and it has not yet been possible to grow them anywhere else in the world. The rock edifice of this mountain is awesome and one can enjoy wonderful views from the top and also enjoy beautiful rock formations. - SO.. a perfect idea to be able to see it from the office where one works.

This photo is only saturated a little and the brightess reduced somewhat to counteract the harshness of the bright sunlight. Enjoy what to me is one of the most beautiful views through a window in South Africa.

Hello Wia,

A big window for a big view!
No obstructions which is exactly as it should be with a view like this!

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

With a view like that Wia I dont think I would achieve a great deal. Excellent PP work in reducing teh glare, good colour and lovely softer detail. An interesting shaped mountain that one,
David

Lovely view, indeed dear Wia.
I really thought it was the Table mountain seen from a point, I didn't know.
I agree the West Cape is really blessed with gorgeous nature all around. Have to come back some day.
Beautiful framed view by the window, very well done, Wia.

Hallo Wia,
