[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The sunrise flying into Johannesburg light up the winglets and reflected well. It was going to be a good trip. In this pic the shadow of the plane body is exactly at the intersection of the winglet and the main wing. The winglet is in full sun and the main wing is in full shadow.

I was surprised but pleased that these camera settings worked at all because it was very bumpy at this time.

A well spotted opportunity Ms Karin. The reflection produced a powerful effect and the leading lines composition draws attention to the focal point very well. It's a pity the yellow on the winglet washed out a bit. Maybe could be fixed with a bit of pp.

Hi Karin
I hope you are well
Wonderful capture and reflections
Very well presented
Take care

Hello Karin.
Great and colourful shot of that wing.
Always a nice moment to 'shoot in the air', no one gets hurt, haha
Sure you had a fantastic holiday in South Africa, I had that in 2006 too. Plenty pictures I put on TL of it.
Have a nice day.
Jan

i like this strangely iluminated tip of the wing but what i love about this foto is the fantastic colorful reflection
TFS!

Hi Karin,
What a great moment. You've turned a normal wing into a piece of art with the help of mother nature. The illumination of the winglet is very beautiful. I also love the warm light enhanced by the CP warming filter.
TFS,
Niek

Hehehehe...I posted no long ago a similar picture of a rflecting winglet :-) Well this is a striking coloured reflection. Great composition. Well seen and captured, a cheerful posting!

Hello Karin, the painted wing end made the shot and you exploited that perfectly. Beautifully composed and great light control!

Mario

I love the reflections of the tip on the wing Karin. Great work!
Love the soft tones in the sky... time to wake up!

:-)

Hi there!
Brilliant idea, and well captured.
I am always too nervous to take pictures on a plane, but I am glad you did!
Lovely bright colours, good detail and nice composition.
Well done and TFS!

Hi Ms Karin
its a puzzle kinda of a picture, at first look it didn't get what it is. well captured and U got nice crisp result & perfect reflection.

Thanks for sharing
Usaf

Hi Karin,

I love seeing these colours, good memories of flying to Joburg.
I think the camera settings work, but you have more options to create deeper colours - by chosing a higher F-stop - by choosing a faster shuttertime or if your camera has that option by using an AV/EV correction down by I think at least 3 stops (-1), that method also comes in handy with nature photography, I almost always underexpose then.

Thanks for bringing back sweet memories,

Els

Hi Karin,

I'm enjoying how you managed to transform a plane-wing into a short story about your trip. And the pov makes me feel like sitting on the wing and leaning on the plane's body and dreaming about a workshop ... :)

Best wishes,
Attila
