Hi all,
My second scavenger hunt entry. I got it today. This bridge goes over the river Nene to a little vilage called otheringhay where I used to live. The castle nearby dates back to the 13th century, so presumably this bridge is from the same era. Oh and if it means anything to anyone, Mary queen of Scotland was executed here.

PP- This is the most amount of work I have done to a photo in ages. To start with I cropped it to get the narrower format. I also cloned out a few bits and pieces like a telephone wire and (wait for it...) an entire house :P. I did a fair amount of dodging and burning having made my life really difficult reducing contrast in RawShooter. Then I added the sepia tone to give the shot a kind of aged feel. Then I inverted it, adjusted levels to make it darker, added diffuse glow, inverted, and adjusted the levels back to normal. Finally came the film grain effect. Phew, that's all.

I did think about doing something about the church that seemed to be getting lost in the sky due to the diffuse glow, but it has really grown on me the way it is now, so I left it.

Anyway hope you like it,
Jako

Another fine entry, TFS! I like the way you cropped it, including not only the bridge but also the castle. B/W serves well.

Hello Jako,
Nice shot. This photo has a lot of great things: cropping, framing, tones, composition...Beautiful place, as well.
Best regards,
Valeria.

Perfect.

Good finished article from some quite intensive PP work. The POV you've used is great, as it gives the bridge some context in the landscape. There's something "other worldly" about the lighting effect on the church which contrasts well with the darker right hand side of the picture. Great stuff
Thanks for sharing

Hi Jako,
Great Scav hunt entry of a beautiful old bridge. I love the composition and the treatment to make it even look older.
