A little distortion

Hi all,
This is the same cathedral my last post was of. This is kind of round the back of it. The part to the left is one of the horizontal parts of the cross it forms and the right part would be the long vertical part of the cross.
I loved that lens here. The grave you can see was right in front of me, and I was crouching right down low to get the towers in the shot and exadurate the cathedral's height.
I did quite a lot of PP, but tried to stay faithfull to the original image. I selected the cathedral and darkened it towards the left. I also selected the grave in the foreground and brightened it as it was quite dark. Then I did some levels tweaking to the overall image and applied some USM. In fact the sky is about the only thing I didn't change.
Hope you like it,
Jako
PS- Sorry the photo is quite small but the filesize was really large for some reason, and I made the photo smaller rather than compress it loads. |

A shot that deserves more attention... Very nice attention to details, the perfect perspective shot. Too bad the cross in the foreground is hard to see; maybe in a larger version. Nice work, Jako!
Beautiful! This looks great Jako, I'm sort of cramped for time so I can't drawl out the compliments tonight... great colours/perspective/detail (even if the image is a tad small) and just wow... the scene itself is something amazing. The world truly is beautiful! :)
Biance.
Hi there!
I lived in Peterborough for 2 years(1999,2000) and lived less than a mile from this magnificent Cathedral.
I like your POV and composition, and I think the PP work actually works well.
Great job!

hi jako,
i have noticed that u do great with perspective distortions...
and i blieve the reason for the large file size is the amount of detail the lens captured..
i am also thinkin of getting a 10mm lens, but am too concerned about takin the lens off (fearing dust on the sensor)..
thanks for sharing... very nice work.. very neat also..
have a great day :)
