[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi all,

Well I found another random object to photograph, this time from my bedside drawer ;p I think this padlock originally came from a skate park years back... Well I did pay the £1 deposit for it to use on a locker so technically I didn't steal it...

Anyways, It was on the same pair of black trousers as most of my shots lately. I wanted to play around with strong sidelighting. I did try to diffuse the light a bit but then I didn't get the texture of the metal as well as with direct light.

PP- Rotated a few degrees- I used a tripod and still didn't get it straight :(
Then I desaturated, dodged and burnt, adjusted levels, sharpened and resized etc.

Hope you like it,
Jako

Hi Jako

Now this is what I was trying to refere to as well. This shot would never have been as good was it in colour. Why do you think that is...maybe because of the contrast effect?

very nice idea and the focus point is really effective. Well done.
